so gerd and philipp were due to play xoyo one saturday night and the club is 6 minutes from my studio so i suggested we go there first to make tunes for a few hours. we made 2 songs that night and one of them is ‘reach out’. gerd did the drums on my 808, philipp wrote the beautiful lead part on my obxa and i did the bass in my cs80. i added the words a couple of weeks later, they are inspired by leonard cohen’s letter to his muse marianne ihlen on her deathbed. (joe goddard) including fantastic remixes by erol alkan and osborne.

were back with the second jack cassettes series! following the success of the first jack series, weve decided to pull heavyweights out of the treasure trove of chicago reel to reels acquired by still music last year. this second series is another incredible glance into our beloved house music through some lost radio mixes salvaged from reel to reels by jerome derradji. we start with a superb one hour mix from frankie knuckles circa 1986 and dive straight to the hot mix 5 with edward get down crosby and his insane mixes, full of edits and original beat traxx. a small detour to miami is made with a killer electro mix by wgci guest joe magic. pull out the tape deck, move the furniture away and jack!

joe herrick - dream reading: extrapolation records are proud to present the first record by joe herrick, dream reading. comprising of 14 tracks from a vast archive of his material we’ve been listening to for the last 5 years, the album moves from ambient soundscapes to off kilter hip hop and house, all held together by herricks individual use of looping and samples. euphoric, psychedelic, paranoid, rugged, claustrophobic all at once, the dream scenarios throughout include a variety of daily work events, journeys to different locations, family matters, sex acts, and encounters with other human individuals, animals, and deities.

fresh from london, fulham young blood joe corti starts a new london imprint, china white. the first entry to the catalog is a four track ep coming from himself: reprising the filtered disco house vibes that caught ears on his past releases on the a-side, and ditching the samples to flex a darker, deeper side on the b. the label will be a solid home for productions from joe and like-minded fellow friends.

clandestino head joe morris is next up on wonder stories, imparting the kind of sun-kissed discoid meditation the label and its listeners lap up. morris is sounding confident and cool on cloud nine, using vintage drum machine patterns and fuzzy synth lines to impart a sweet-natured groove that reaches skywards. contrasting the blissed out original, max essa brings a little more bite to the table with his shimmering electro-disco version, while coyote preaches his balearic vision on the b1 remix. label boss aimes keeps things smooth and steady with a deep house version of cloud nine for all dancefloor dreamers to get lost in.

transit valley is the debut release by joe coghill, a multi-disciplinary artist, musician and experimental publisher based in edinburgh. his practice incorporates sound, video, performance, social sculpture, facilitation and media distribution. borrowing from multiple spheres of influence, his scattered output operates from a liminal position. coghill works in an improvised and often haphazard way, incorporating disparate field recordings, modular synthesis and other sonic ambiences to create unpredictable and ephemeral multi-layer audio-visual performances. alongside this coghill has been producing music recreationally in his various bedroom studios over the past 14 years

joseph white aka joe white is a foundation of jamaican music. he started singing in the late 50 s and did his first recordings for duke reid in the early 60 s. while disco sound was bumping into jamaican people mind, he formed the group roots, trunks & branches to release several tracks on the label splendour heights. “rising / power disco power” is taken from the album the weak will be strong released in 1978. a beautiful extended disco reggae tune mainly played by joe white (drums, piano, vocal). this issue was fully remastered on a disco 45 vinyl record to give respect to the dynamic. on the other side you will get the reggae lovers roots rock tune “ain t no way / the monster”, an extended version with deep dubwise. you ve got it!

transcendentally beautiful, the space ladys music is returning to earth. transmitting messages of peace and harmony, the space lady began her odyssey on the streets of boston in the late 70s, then san francisco ten years later, playing versions of contemporary pop music with an accordion and dressed flamboyantly. following the theft and destruction of her accordion , the space lady invested in a then-new casio keyboard, complete with a phase shifter and headset mic, birthing an otherworldly new dimension to popular song that has captured the imaginations of the underground and its leading exponents ever since.

“tint” is the first new solo recording from joe talia in over a decade. australian-born but now based in tokyo, talia is known to many listeners as a drummer (frequently collaborating both live and in the studio with artists such as oren ambarchi and jim o’rourke) and as a recording and mixing engineer responsible for dozens of releases across the fields of contemporary experimental music, wayward pop, and jazz. alongside james rushford, he is also responsible for one of the most legendary releases in the kye records catalogue, the creaking electronic morass of “manhunter” (2013).

originally released in 1999, the cultish reputation of the mysterious blindboy s sole offering to the world has attained it a high second hand value, and so archeo recordings have done the right thing and actioned a reissue. ruckus in lo fi is steeped in balearic guitar tones, downbeat hip hop cuts and forays into sumptuous jazz funk. there s also a remix from joe morris, who fashions a brooding, epic remix of -i dream- loaded with simmering tension without losing the funky warmth of the original. with all kinds of mellow pouring out of this one, any stone cold chillers out there won t want to sleep on this one.
